An Evans Drumheads player since 2014.

It was love at first sight. When she was six years old, Lindsay Artkop spotted a shiny drum set on display at a local music store. Her dad saw her interest. She was lucky enough to come home that day with a snare drum and a pair of red sticks! Lindsay started lessons and played in every band possible throughout elementary and middle school. Her interest for music grew stronger every day. Over the years, she also picked up guitar, bass, composing, and audio recording. At 15, she began studying at the Educational Center for the Arts (ECA), a magnet school for the performing arts in New Haven, CT. She played each day with other dedicated jazz students under the direction of long time New Haven professionals such as Jessie Hameen II and Jeff Fuller. She also studied with Bernard Purdie during that time. Music became her life's passion. Throughout high school she recorded and gigged with Jazz, Latin, Rock, Pop, and other style musicians/bands throughout the New England area, especially with her own Jazz/Blues/Funk group that she produced, managed, and recorded with, “Lindsay Artkop and Friends”. Now a Scholarship Student at Berklee College of Music, she majors in Professional Music with a concentration in Drum set Performance, Songwriting, and Music Business. Some teachers she's studied with include Ralph Peterson, Bob Gullotti, Tony “Thunder” Smith, Henrique De Almeida, Yoron Israel and Jon Hazilla. On May 7th, 2015, Lindsay was crowned “Hit Like a Girl” Champion. This contest is an international video competition for female drummers. Earning 1st place has already brought countless exciting drumming opportunities and launched a promising music career. Some of these include signing endorsements with Zildjian Cymbals and Evans Drum Heads, being scheduled for performances, interviews, lesson teaching and drum collaborations on DrumChannel, being featured in magazines like DRUM! and TomTom, working with famous drummers such as Kiran Gandhi and Shariq Tucker on video collaborations, performing at PASIC 2015, being included in the new Hit Like a Girl Contest mini-documentary, and much more. Lindsay has just begun to scratch the surface of her mark in the music industry. She is currently pursuing a career as a touring/studio drummer for established artist(s).
