About Dave Mattacks
David Mattacks ("DM") began his career in the UK playing with big bands before joining the influential folk-rock group Fairport Convention. As a sought-after session drummer, his discography includes recordings with the likes of Paul McCartney, Elton John, George Harrison, Jimmy Page, XTC, Jethro Tull, and Nick Drake, among many others. He moved to Boston in 2000 and has continued a prolific career in live and studio work, collaborating with artists like Mary Chapin Carpenter, Richard Thompson, and Rosanne Cash. In addition to performing and producing, Dave has taught master classes at London’s Royal Academy of Music and Berklee College of Music’s Percussion Week.
