ABOUT Filippos Manoloudis
Filippos Manoloudis is one of the leading classical guitarists of his generation. Praised by Gendai Guitar Magazine for his "stunning technique and expressive power," he is described as an "all-around player," flawlessly interpreting music spanning various periods and styles.
He started playing the guitar at the age of 7 in his hometown of Kavala, Greece. He received his soloist diploma at the age of 17, soon after enrolling at the Academy of Music in Darmstadt, Germany for his bachelor's degree.
In 2015, he gave his first recital at the Thessaloniki Guitar Festival, followed by many other concerts in Greece, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Belgium, Italy, and China. In March 2018, he performed his first tour consisting of concerts in six different cities in Bulgaria (as part of his 1st prize of Pleven Guitar Festival) and in November 2019 he performed at Megaron Concert Hall in Athens. He’s recently added Mexico, Costa Rica, USA, Brazil, and Japan to that list.
Filippos has won some of the most prestigious guitar competitions worldwide. In 2022, he was the 1st prizewinner of the Koblenz International Guitar Competition in Germany, and most recently of the prestigious65th Tokyo International Guitar Competition in Japan. He was also awarded the "Young Artist of Changsha" award at the Changsha International Guitar Competition 2021 in China.
