About Paco Peña
Hailed as a flamenco virtuoso, Paco Peña's journey began in Córdoba, Spain, where he started guitar lessons at six. By twelve, he had already made his professional debut, showcasing his extraordinary talent. Peña's artistry transcends the flamenco community, captivating audiences worldwide. His international success has led him to perform at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. He is frequently invited to collaborate with leading musicians and orchestras, blending traditional flamenco with classical and contemporary influences. Paco Peña has made significant contributions to the flamenco world, including establishing the world's first university course on flamenco guitar at the Rotterdam Conservatory in 1985. His works, such as "Misa Flamenca" and "Requiem for the Earth," highlight his innovative approach. Peña's dedication has earned him numerous accolades, including the title of Oficial de la Cruz de la Orden del Mérito Civil by King Juan Carlos of Spain in 1997. His guitar playing continues to inspire and elevate the art of flamenco.
