"The main reason we use D’Addario reeds is because our concerts and shows are very varied and include many different styles. These reeds adapt perfectly to all these styles without losing the timbre or richness that they provide to the instrument."

"Ever since we discovered Rico Reserve and later D'Addario Reserve reeds, we haven't stopped playing with this model. The flexibility and richness of timbres they provide make it a very wise choice. In addition, with correct use, the durability of this product is very long."

ABOUT Púrpura Pansa
Púrpura Pansa is, apart from the name of one of the most famous sea snails, the name of one of the most renowned chamber music groups active today.
The saxophone quartet is incredibly dynamic in their concerts, characterized by an amazing capability of connecting with all kinds of live audiences, instantly. After almost a decade of touring across Spain and other European countries, they’ve achieved a combination of experience, professionalism, and freshness that is always conveyed in their performances.
Aside from being a stellar live group, Púrpura Pansa has released two albums. The first one, Unua (2012), displayed a potential to cover pieces of all styles. The second, Saxofonia (2014), was a monographic of the prestigious composer Andrés Valero-Castells.
Púrpura Pansa works frequently with great composers like José Rafael Pascual-Vilaplana, José Ignacio Blesa Lull, Antón Alcalde, Daan van der Hurk or the above-mentioned Andrés Valero-Castells. This has resulted in several pieces being dedicated to the group.
The group also organizes SAXEM, an annual festival gathering some of the best teachers and saxophonists in the world, as well as more than sixty students who participate in workshops, conferences, classes, and concerts that the festival offers.
